Why keeping my commitments is so important to me - Rajni Ghir

Why keeping my commitments is so important to me

I have not been being my word and it is waking me up to potential that I never knew I had within me šŸ”„

I made a commitment to be my word at the The LAMRON Business Immersion hosted by Sachin Sharma.

To me, being my word means doing exactly what I say I am going to do, when I say I’m going to do it.

And owning it when I realise, for whatever reason, that I can no longer keep my original agreement with myself. For example, if I find myself double booked (this doesn’t happen so much anymore), ensuring that I clean it up as soon as I realise, with self love and self-forgiveness.

I realised that I am not being my word with myself. Instead, I am waiting until the last minute, and then rushing to meet my commitments.

Which is leading me to believe that ‘I just don’t have enough time.’

When I believe I don’t have enough time, I tend to feel overwhelmed. And when I am overwhelmed, my focus scatters and I stop taking action. I get mentally tired. I begin procrastinating.

And so the cycle continues.

This is not the world I want to live in.

Rushing and procrastinating are symptoms. Rather than accept this as my life, I choose to explore these symptoms. Wherever there is a symptom, there is always a cause.

What I am seeing is that I am rushing / procrastinating BECAUSE I am not Being my word.

For example, I know I have a commitment with the gym. I have classes and PT sessions every week. I noticed how I have been rushing to be on time because I haven’t been giving myself enough time to arrive. I end up running to class, and then beat myself up for being late.

Another example is that I committed to make a payment by 30th June to a mentor of mine. I made the payment on 1st July. This doesn’t look like a big deal but what it’s showing me is of astronomical impact.

Not being my word is costing me masses of energy in ‘waiting until the last minute.’

It’s costing me procrastination in my business, which is costing me peace of mind, which is costing me the quality of presence I bring to my marriage and my family.

When I am Being my word, I have experienced what feels to me, like a paradoxical shift.

In being my word, I suddenly seem to have ample time for my business, my family and myself.

When I wait to take action, I spend ample time leaving everything to the last minute.

What I saw today is that I am procrastinating on certain actions because it feels momentarily easier to do so. I am waiting, instead of acting on my wisdom.

I am seeing that if I stop waiting across the board, my commitments will no longer be things I’m rushing to get done.

I am bringing all of my curiousity to the question: If I can do it now, why wait?

I am experiencing that there is an immense amount of freedom that comes with being my word.

No more rushing.
No more waiting.
No more overwhelm.

(And it’s ok if I do experience any of the above again. I can love myself and re-align to my commitments without judgement).

I am experiencing that I can create with a steady and loving intensity that actually energises me, instead of robs me of energy.

I don’t have to ping between the extremes of doing nothing vs doing everything all at once.

I can slow down to the middle ground, and act from my commitments with ease and joy.

The first line of my Document is: I AM FREE.

Being my word, to me, feels like total freedom. And I’m so excited to see what unfolds for me now I’ve Seen this.

I’d love to know what you get from this šŸ’›
